SHREWD LUCY I was born and raised in Alaska, was schooled in Western New York, I've criss-crossed the country time and time again and at the moment have been in Southern California since 2004. I've transformed my living arrangements into my full time music studio where I write, record, and produce everything. I've recently quit the corporate world and am now fully focused on music. Q: WHO ARE THE MEMBERS AND WHAT DO YOU DO? A: My name's Collyn and I'm a singer/songwriter. I play anything I can get my hands on and embarrass myself with........, but most comfortable with guitars and songwriting. Q: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PLAYING MUSIC? A: I took piano lessons when I was 11, been playing guitar since 1998, and I've amateurishly been recording and producing music since 2002. Q: WHAT STYLE OF MUSIC DO YOU PLAY? A: There's no doubt that I've created my sound and style based on what I listen to. The messages in the likes of Bob Dylan and Neil Young, the dark melodic harmonies of Alice In Chains, unrefined alternative rock/grunge style (Pearl Jam, Nirvana), and rock-a-billy Johnny Cash or Hank III, ........................ all make Shrewd Lucy. Q: WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO? A: Recording and Writing is a constant, but recently I’ve focused on promotion and marketing. So far, sales have grown at a successfully steady rate and have created a solid fanbase globally. I'm including new songs nearly every week so check back often for the latest. Q: WHERE'D YOU GET THE NAME? A: In Ethiopia in 1974 archeologists found a 3.2 million year old skeleton believed to be one of our first bi-pedal ancestors. They named it "Lucy".
