Music Style: Rock | Reggae | Latin
Based Out Of: Los Angeles, CA
From a variety of neighborhoods in the greater Los Angeles area, the members of El Manifesto came together to begin their journey by conducting jam sessions in a woodworks warehouse in Compton, CA. Having different musical styles, the group's experimental sessions soon began to manifest their strong characteristics. Influences such as Burning Spear, Desmond Dekker, The Roots, Blackalicious, The Clash, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Cal Tjader, Rigo Tovar, and Poncho Sanchez serve as the catalyst for creative flux. With Frank on Drums and Percussion, Danny on Bass Guitar, Luis on Lead Guitar and Vocals, and Manny on Rhythm Guitar and Vocals, El Manifesto has maintained a steady flow of Latin Fusion music built on Reggae, Hip Hop, Punk and Cumbia rhythms. They have been performing in the underground music scene for the better part of three years. As live performers they have toasted to the spirits of music from backyard parties to The Temple Bar in Santa Monica, The Viper Room in Hollywood, The Rhythm Lounge in Long Beach, Safari Sam's in Hollywood and The House of Blues in Hollywood. Performing with groups such as Casa de Calacas, The Rocketz, Upground, The Horny Toads, Quinto Sol, Go Betty Go, Humo Verde, The Very Be Carefuls, Santos De Los Angeles and Domingo Siete demonstrates El Manifesto's musical versatility as well as their ability to elude traditional categorization
