Family Photo

Family Photo is a five piece ensemble that grew up playing jazz and classical, but decided after high school to try something of a different musical vein. With influences from European and African traditions wrapped up in a package that is distinctly American, the group displays a diverse spectrum of sound. The members consist of high school band mates who went their separate ways on to different habitats reaching to the farthest corners of North America to further pursue their musical aspirations. At every reunion, they come back with new ideas and influences to create genuine and conscious music. Playing in their childhood homes and cutting records under the noses of their somewhat peeved parents, Family Photo takes a do-it-yourself approach with their music. They just released a 6 song, self-titled EP in Spring of 2012 that was entirely recorded in their parents' homes in Sacramento, and mixed and mastered by the band.
