Few Thy Voice: Music with integrity By: Erika Sorocco For The Californian Newspaper As opposed to simply choosing a band name that would provide a title for their musical trio; Temecula-based band, Few Thy Voice, chose a name that was not only catchy, but would work to represent their sound both musically and lyrically. "Bobby came up with the name many years ago, and we use it not just as a name, but also as a representation of our band ---- musically as well as lyrically," bassist/vocalist Bill Koscielak said. "To us, Few Thy Voice means that words should have meaning and integrity if they are worth being said ---- especially as lyrics for songs. We try to display such weight in our songs, not just with the lyrics, but also with the instruments. "We would like to stress that although this is our interpretation of the band name, we would like it to be open for individual assessment and analysis, in hopes that listeners will think about it, and form a personal attachment to our band." Consisting of Temecula's Koscielak and Bobby Krause, along with Menifee's Bryan Giardinelli, Few Thy Voice came together in a mix of high school bands, a search for the perfect drummer, and the task of creating their own, unique sound. "Back in high school, Bobby and I were in a band together," Koscielak said. "After some years apart in different bands, we decided to work together again to form a band that could distinguish itself from other local bands. We decided that having only three members and one guitarist would be an interesting way to do so. Thus, both Bobby and I took on the task of singing, and the two of us began our search for a drummer. "We tried out, and played with various drummers for almost a year ---- the best of whom lacked the commitment, aspirations, and experience required. Finally, we found Bryan, who embodied all of these qualities. "With an appreciation for a wide variety of music, we decided to combine all of our tastes into a sincere, raw, and meaningful sound, with an atmosphere to separate ourselves from local monotony. We decided that we could have emotion, as well as energy, heavy undertones with a strong sense of melody, ambiance, and aggression, all at the same time." "What developed became what is now Few Thy Voice; a band that frees itself from traditional structures and plays with moods and tones in an attempt to maintain honesty, without being another straightforward band." "Listeners can expect a very kinetic and active performance..." Koscielak said. "People can also expect a lot of sound coming from only three people. It should be a lot of fun."
