Getaways and Goodbyes
Artist Bio/Description: Getaways and Goodbyes
Getaways and Goodbyes was established approximately 50 years ago in a small underwater cave near Athens. The members constructed their instruments out of coconuts, tar, and talent. They combine rhythms, harmonies, Bass-Lines, Tongan Drum beats, and sexiness to make your ears tingle with all that is good in the world. In 2007, they have decided to come out of the closet and share their secrets with the rest of the world. Fearing that the world would not take their new found music for it's worth due to their true and hideous forms, each member created an alias in which to live above ground with the rest of the humans. The names were decided in a meeting which was held in Compton, CA. Researching the sexy name database, they choose five names: JJ, Evan, Steve, Gabe, and Lorrin. The drummer decided to take the name Steve, for that is a good name for a rhythm maker. The guitar players took Gabe and JJ, and the bass player took Lorrin. Since Evan was the only name left, the singer took it. As for style, each member had to choose between emo, scene, pop-punk, metal, classic, new wave, or rave. The band decided to just clash all clothing styles and call it even. The band concentrated their homes within southern California, and they started to rock. The music flourished, and a new form of rock was born. Combining hard guitar with smooth vox, punk beats with classic bass, piano sonata with metal solos, all seemed to fit together in a plethera of genres. Appealing to the masses, Getaways and Goodbyes was born to not disappoint. And they still live up to that today.
