jack the original

So.........you've been asking yourself what this whole "jack the original" nonsense is all about that you've been hearing so much of on the streets these days. And it's haunted your every thought to the point where you are now sitting at a "computer" and have actually "clicked" on the bio link. Well, here is our story, and may it put an end to the asking and the haunting and the so on:

jack the original consists of Brandon Parker(bass, age 22), Kevin Martin(vocals/keyboard/guitar, age 21), Gabe Lehner(vocals/guitar/skin flute, age 24), and Bryon Anderson(drums, age 29). They are a San Diego North County based band out of Vista/Encinitas. How is it possible to be from both you ask? Because Brandon, Kevin, and Bryon all live in Vista, while Gabe, Outcast McBlacksheep, lives in Encinitas.

As the name implies, jack the original is an all-original rock group with songs as unique and diverse as those by their main influences: The Beatles, Radiohead, and Blur. The band is probably best known for having original, really good songwriting, having lots of intricate vocal harmonies, and for having a humorous and entertaining stage presence........oh yeah......and for the gigantic, intimidating growth on Gabe's left eyeball!

Kevin and Gabe are the group's songwriters, and have been writing songs together non-stop since they first met in 1996; a passion they both possess and share with insurmountable enthusiasm. And it is this true passion and love for making and playing music, which the whole band shares, that really comes across to anyone who sees them play. That, and the fact that they have a lot of fun doing it. The comedy and theatrics they display when on stage is nothing more than the band being themselves, goofing around and having fun playing music. If anything, the silly and zany on-stage antics are toned down a few notches from what the band is really like off stage, where they froogle the jangles and stollop the miser berries!

jack the original is currently playing at places such as The Belly Up Tavern, Canes Bar & Grill, The Casbah, Blind Melons, and Lestats Coffeehouse, to name a few, and they are in a studio working hard on a full-length album. They're EP is out now!

Things to note
1. the "jack" from jack the original is purposefully written with a lower case j. This is because "jack" is not referring to the name of a person, rather it is using the word's meaning to steal something.

2. jack the original would really appreciate it if you never referred to them as JTO. They would hate to have to track you down and kill you. jack the OG, or even just "jack" is okay, but please...don't call them JTO. It brings back painful childhood memories that don't need to be discussed in further detail at this time. Thank you.
