MerkyWaters

MerkyWaters is a three piece band formed late December 2002 in Bloomington, California under the previous name of Grime. The band consists of Alex Rubio(guitar/vocals)age 20 born in Los Angeles C.A. on June 5, 1987, Joana Rubio(drums)age 18 born in Los Angeles C.A. on November 9th,1988 and Randal Chrisley(bass)age 20 born on August 16th 1987 in West Covina C.A. Alex and Joana are siblings who share musical taste. Alex started playing guitar at the age of 14. He began writing songs 2 years later. Joana began playing drums at the age of 13. Randy began playing guitar at the age of 14 and switched to the bass when he was 15 years old. Alex and Randy met in the 7th grade at Ruth "O" Harris middle school located in Bloomington. Randy and Alex shared mutual friends and an English class together. The two became good friends throughout high school. Eventually Randy met Joana when he was a sophomore at Bloomington High School. The Interest of a band came to be when longtime friends Alex and Randy began to play music together in November of 2002. Joana had always expressed the notion of starting a band. The three of them are self-taught musicians and songwriters. Young and talented they have developed a very strong chemistry which can be heard and felt in their music. The powerful bond between the bass and drums can not be denied. The bands musical style can be characterized as alternative rock/punk. On May 31st 2003 MerkyWaters played their first show as an opening band to a local metal group. Night after night the band practiced until gaining a sound of their own. MerkyWaters is still going strong writing new material to unleash on the masses.---------------------------
