Mystery Hangup

Cat, Lux, Bisou, and Redd step into their alter egos with Rock'n Roll force to offer you... Mystery Hangup. But, is Mystery Hangup a Rock'n Roll band??? Please, don't read this and automatically categorize them into the average all girl rock band, they're not! Completely influenced by Radiohead, crossing over to their Mexican roots, all the way down to Led Zeppelin. Mystery Hangup brings a sound that can not be categorized. Introducing Cat (Guitar/Vocal) with an amazing heart throbbing voice, Redd (Bass) zapping energy through her down strokes, Bisou (Guitar/Keyboard) using a unique technique to produce music, and last but definitely not least Lux (Drummer), you will be amazed!

Ah, sweet history........how did they come to be?

Take three very young siblings, give them each an instrument, and send them off on a very long journey in music school and you've just made the beginning of a Spanish band of loyal and curious young ladies. After 2 1/2 years of playing Mexican music, these girls rock roots were starting to appear. At the age of 17 Cat (the eldest of the girls) discovered the Cranberries and The Doors. She immediately grabbed her guitar and started song writing in English with a desire to captivate others and engage fresh new sounds, as those key influences mentioned have made. With no time to waste she asked her 14 year old sister Lux, who at the time was watching Ren and Stimpy, to join her on her mission. They started at once, in their little not-so sound proof garage, creating a fascinating, effects driven guitar noise for all their neighbors to hear. It was not long for her other sister Bisou (17 years of age at the time) to jump in the action.

For the first few weeks Bisou had played with all instruments that were being tossed at her by Cat. In the end, she found her spot in the 2nd guitar role and keyboards. There you have it, the beginning of a band who would later call themselves Mystery Hangup. For a couple of years MH juggled bassists, turning one in for another, also good friends lending a helping hand. Then out of no where a girl by the name of Redd calls saying she wants to join the band. After hearing MH play in their garage, Redd was in Love and to Mystery Hangup, Redd was the perfect fit. Mystery Hangup was finally really complete.

Mystery Hangup is more than just creating music. They wish to make an impact on each and every listener, whether it is emotional or political. They believe in Justice, and Human equality, (yes in this man made world it is hard to achieve but, with belief, hope, and activism it is possible). Mystery Hangup supports organizations like: Amnesty International, (AI -is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights.) and The Hep C Coalition.
