New Faith
Artist Bio/Description: New Faith
In the late 1980’s it seemed time to search for something different. In 1988 Joe V. along with Steve Wieting formed New Faith not wanting to fit in with the current musical trends they recorded “escape from suburbia” released in 1989 churning out a blend of thrash, harcore and metal. A new perspective was taken as 1990’s “conditioning“ added an experimental edge to the bands sound. Health hazards emerged with Joe V., diagnosed with cancer (Hodgkin’s disease) led to some set backs but in his remission the show went on. 1994 brought changes to the band a reformed line up would go on to record “Follow The Way” getting back to the traditional New York hardcore sound. By 1998 the “The lost recordings” was recorded, never released and soon brought the band to a close.
Joe v. concentrated more on other bands he was involved with parallel to New Faiths’ birth which included, Rejuvenate, Cause for Alarm, Darkside NYC and Downlow.
2006 Los Angeles is now the home of the band were the reformed line up of Tony Costanza ex. Crowbar, Crisis and Machine Head on drums , Danyeal Willams ex. Dark Angel, Zyklon B and Glue Gun on bass and Joe V. vocals and guitar keeping the sound of their hardcore punk roots.
A 3 song demo was recorded at Dream catcher studios in Los Angeles with in Dec. 2006 which consists of songs from the mid 90’s era of the band. Plans for an EP are under works for a 2007 release and European tour.
