One Year Yesterday

January 24, 2007 One Year Yesterday is a pop/rock/soul group that blends the feel of Stevie Wonder, the voice of John Mayer with the live energy of Maroon 5. The band formed in January of 2006 just outside of Los Angeles in Upland, CA. Under their current release, The Intention EP, One Year Yesterday has been playing all throughout Southern California, from Sunset Blvd. to private estates in the hills of Orange County. Bringing over 350 people to their show at the world famous Whisky-A-Go-Go, and selling out their most recent show in Steamboat Springs, CO with over 200 in attendance the momentum behind One Year Yesterday is enormous. One Year Yesterday is • Bass: Matt Sinner, 17. • Drums & Percussion: Nate Lotz, 19. • Piano, Keys, Vocals: Tyler Johnson, 20. • Guitar & Background Vocals: Dan Sinner, 21. Tyler’s melodies and songwriting caught the attention of guitarist Dan Sinner back in December of 2005 at a local music spotlight. The two began collaborating in January of 2006 and spending countless hours in a rehearsal room writing and producing their songs. In February 2006, Nate Lotz, a fresh face to LA and long time friend of Tyler, came out to rehearse with the band and was soon the newest member. After playing a few private showcases the decision was made to hit the studio. The three song radio-ready demo, The Intention EP, was released at the bands first show in May 2006. With live shows lining up, guitarist Dan Sinner’s brother Matt Sinner was invited to play bass and soon thereafter he became the last member of One Year Yesterday. This group may be young and new to the LA scene but their dedication, hard work and panty-droppin’ music have been landing them in the midst of some amazing opportunities. A recent trip to Universal/Interscope in Santa Monica, and an invite to shoot for Rehearsals.com indicates a bright future for One Year Yesterday. With current plans to head into the studio for a full length album, working with the likes of Alan Waddington (Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg, Akon) and recent acquistion Troy Welstad (Ryan Cabrera, Andrew Ripp), One Year Yesterday’s independent album release date is scheduled for early May 2007. The band is also planning a tour for summer ’07 to push their album throughout the western United States. A summer tour, a full-length album, an excited and growing fan base, One Year Yesterday is expanding quickly, so quickly the band is finding it an exciting challenge to keep up with all the new opportunities, emails and phone calls.
