Artist Bio/Description: Radio Memphis
What started as a recording project in ‘05, Radio Memphis has quickly become an up and coming live band in San Diego. With influences spanning Classic 70’s Rock, Southern Rock, and Country, the band has mixed these styles without alienating their listeners. Overall, Radio Memphis is a Classic Rock Band that’s not afraid to experiment with styles, song writing, or lyrics. It’s members bring an individual fan base from Southern California, relative to their experience, tours, and history as Professional Musicians.
Band Influences: The Black Crowes, Faces, Free, Gram Parsons, Led Zeppelin.
Billy Clements: Guitarist/Producer (www.puremusicandsound.com) has been composing for television networks, advertising agencies, and has recently signed with M-Audio to co-produce “Jazz Essentials”, with Black Eyed Peas percussionist, Chuck Prada. Billy has lived in Los Angeles since ’94 and is inspired by Classic/Southern Rock and vintage tone.
David Wayne: A Vocalist, Story Teller, and Melody Maker, David brings creative lyrical content and soul to the band. His long musical career has put him in practically every venue in San Diego while collecting a lengthy mailing list! David’s popularity exposes the band to more listeners who enjoy the live shows.
Jeff Kelley: Playing well over a thousand gigs in his career including his seven years as the drummer for the Price of Dope and a national tour, Jeff has been nominated five times by the SD Music Awards. He currently owns, and runs, Audio Design and Audio Design Recording in San Diego. Jeff is well known as a talented, versatile, and stylistic drummer.
Chris Torres: Multi-Instrumentalist, Singer Songwriter and Vocalist, Chris does it all (www.christorresmusic.com). However, it’s his bass playing and vocal harmonies that he offers to the band and we are fortunate to have him on board. His current project, Chris Torres Band, can be seen in many venues around town.
