If you were to ask singer/songwriters like Jack Johnson, James Taylor, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Jackson Browne, Aimee Mann, and Lindsay Buckingham what kind of music they played they would probably answer the question the same way Rick does. Rick doesn't play music like anyone else's. He plays Rick Ellis music. It is very much his own style and my own sound. His music is very original, unique and memorable. Rick is a very technical guitarist. It is amazing to watch him play. He is one of the best finger pickers you will ever see and his slide guitar work is nothing less than incredible. Rick often accompanies his guitar with harmonica, which he attaches around his neck ala Neil young and Bob Dylan. Rick's songs span a wide spectrum from love songs, to humorous, to light, to very dark to acoustic instrumentals.
Rick live in Huntington Beach, California with his dog, cat and two parrots.
