Thats when my life took a 180. I moved to my uncles house in San Bernardino. Muscoy to be exact. You know it as the I.E. The real ghetto. No Sidewalks. No Streetlights. Just a whole lot of drugs, money, and violence. Liquor stores on every corner. Broken down cars scattered on peoples front lawns. Pitbulls & Rottweilers behind chain link fences. Peoples moms & dads on the pipe. It was an eye opener.
Ammancipated at the age of 17, I got my own apartment. Right next door to Terry's Liquor on Lynwood & Golden. Finally. Freedom. I'd been writing music for several years, at this point. Taught Myself how to play guitar, bass, drums, piano...you name it...i at least tried to play it. It was '97...i can still hear Wu Tang's "Triuph", playing over and over and over. I always "rapped" while i played the guitar...kinda "Sublime", but still, too into "Nirvana" at the time to claim i rapped. My best friend, Turk, bought turntables...& left them at my house.....this is when i became an M.C. I Was 17 years old.
And I've been in the studio ever since. One might say I'm somewhat of a "beat-junky" or a "crate-digger". I put alot of heart felt energy into my music. Maybe I feel like thats the only way people will relate.
I Like to think of myself as "self-made". I'd like to think that a person can control their own destiny. Create Their own "Reality," regardless of what they've been through or where they come from. Which is exactly what I am doing. I am putting the finishing touches on my debut album, "Reality," which will be ready for realease in the Summer of '07.
