Soundescape
Artist Bio/Description: Soundescape
Throughout his life, guitarist and vocalist Christian Williams had dreamed of and worked toward his one goal; to form a band that would share his vision of creating a new sound to offer the world of music. Inspired by legendary rock groups such as: Led Zeppelin, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Nirvana, and The Beatles, influenced by contemporary favorites; Soundgarden and Muse, and intrigued by experimental bands like Radiohead and Massive Attack, Williams' quest began in 2003 with his band From The Ashes. The band served as a launching pad for his unique gift of songwriting and ability to produce a cohesive rock band. Despite mild successes, he longed for something with a more artistic, mature sound. Recalling a friend from the past, he instinctively knew the perfect person to join alongside and be his creative soul mate. Sharing the same driving passion, Jason Thompson stepped in and the journey began.??Drummer and Percussionist, Thompson brought with him a wealth of experience from his musical background. Like Williams, his inspiration comes from the same hard driving bands of classic rock as well as the newer sounds of Incubus, Interpol, Linkin Park, Nine Inch Nails, Moby, A Perfect Circle and The Mars Volta. All of these and more have greatly influenced his personal drumming style. Belonging to Innerfire, Twice+Lived and many other bands, Thompson put his chops to work and set on the road to becoming a uniquely creative monster of a drummer. In the summer of 2005, Thompson and Williams artists began collaborating and together spent the next year creating their sound. Rustin Sailors came on board as bassist and "Anavryn" was born. Opportunities began to arise, but Sailors chose a different path. For the next six months they struggled without a bass player. Until one day by chance. . .??Rowdy Bossard, a long time friend of Williams, had left his previous rock band and had decided to expand his knowledge in music theory and concert band. A lucky phone call brought him back from studies and onto the stage. A bassist extraordinaire, shaped by classic and contemporary musical influences like Jethro Tull, The Who, Beck, OkGo, and The Raconteurs, Rowdy brought tremendous amounts of creativity and an equal dedication to the band's vision and goals. He was eagerly welcomed as the final member of this trio. ??With the renewed vision and enthusiasm, Anavryn evolved into a new sound, thus; "Soundescape". This band now brings to you creatively heavy guitar riffs, hauntingly soulful vocals, bone breaking bass lines and chaotic, in-your-face drumming."
