Sundial Project began with an ending. Guitarist Nick Murray left “In Absence” and shortly thereafter invited former band member Josh Painter to join him on vocals, forming a new rock band in the image of others that had come before them. Getting back to the days when rock albums had great songs from beginning to end, they quickly decided that songs would have to be filtered and built upon, so that only the best made it to the listener’s ears. A key piece of this puzzle would be well-placed messages to drummer PJ Chesney and bassist Alex Meraz. After a few practices, it was clear that their playing style was just what this band had been looking for.
The band is hard at work playing local shows to build momentum for their highly anticipated March 2007 demo release. With these shows and the beauty of a high speed internet connection, Sundial Project are poised to spread their music worldwide, one person at a time.
