The Outliars Band Bio
Micah – Guitar/Production: born in Texas and raised in Washington as well as Northern California, Micah was heavily influenced by the music his father listened to. Micah’s curiosities for how sounds are made and recorded led him to learning the tools of the trade of sound recording and producing. Not only does Micah contribute to the original compositions of The Outliars, but also he recorded, produced, and mixed their CD.
Carrie – Drums: born and raised in southern California and has been playing music since her early childhood years. Carrie spent her early career playing jazz and SKA music. She trained with teacher Evan Stone and discovered the intensity of rock drumming. She met Micah in 2003 and they started The Outliars together. Her main influences are Neil Peart, John Bonham, Eric Kretz, and Danny Carey.
Chris- Vocals: born in southern California, has been raised in a heavily influenced musical household his whole life. His father was a member of an amateur rock band in the '80's and his grandparents were both classically trained singers. Chris was classically trained by music professor Annette Hutton, but chose Rock over theatre. His main influences come from rockers such as Scott Weiland, Chris Cornell, and Maynard James Keenan.
Slim – Bass: born in Texas, spent most of his teenage years playing bass in a punk band in Ohio named Renob. Slim, who has played bass since he was a young boy, brings years of experience to the table. An exciting performer whose energy and appearance tend to captivate the audience.
