The Spots are a trio founded in San Diego. Kurt Finn and Keith McJunkin are Chicago transplants who moved west and played as a duo until they finally found Wally Bitz, a hard hitting no-frills drummer.
Keith and Kurt were privileged enough to live in Chicago, a city infamous for its blues music. The band likens it's inspiration from blues based rock bands like the Stooges and MC5.
They recently released their new CD, "Orange Boom" - recorded, mixed and produced in one weekend at Mike Kamoo's Earthling Studio in El Cajon. The band kept it simple and limited work on the CD to live vocals, guitar, bass, drums and some percussion with little or no overdubs.
It is simple, guitar-based rock and roll. Their back-to-basics sound is an honest simplicity that reflects the band's blue-collar background.
Working without a set list The Spots live shows go on feel and raw energy alone.
