Artist Bio/Description: The Velveteen Robot
VELVETEEN ROBOT Formed in the Summer of 2006 When Frank Handy responded to an ad placed by Kirk Nebel. A few weeks later Vince Milanov joined up. After a brief line up change Jonny Dee came in on bass. Known for an explosive live show the music is reminiscent of 80’s New Wave meeting 90’s alt rock with strong emphasis on vocal harmonies and memorable hooks. Kirk Nebel, a veteran of Portland and Los Angeles music scenes has had songs cut for major TV ads including Victoria’s Secret. Frank Handy has enjoyed success with the R&B group Feramoan which had a song featured in PAX television’s “Mysterious Ways”. He is currently on the artist list for Curt Mangan strings. Vince Milanov comes from Bulgaria where he had a hit with his previous group Millienum. Their song “For Always” spent 8+ weeks at the NO.1 spot on the European Billboard charts. Jonny Dee is on the bass and we're pretty sure he knows more about rock and roll history than most people, ask him about any band.
